I was of draft age during Vietnam. I've lost count of the police actions, preemptive strikes, regime changes, limited incursions, and covert operations. Regardless of the party in power at the time, the rationale is always reasonable and necessary and inevitable and assured of Securing the Peace for Future Generations. I was that kid too (although growing up outside DC, a lot of us kids were more aware than most).
I can’t figure out if it is better, weirdly, not pretending anymore. Not being lied to anymore with polite fictions designed to appease and soothe. They just blow up children and tell us it’s gonna continue. Refreshing narcissistic sadism out in the open.
